Ingredients

  • 1 package of shumai wrappers
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped carrots

  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is evenly combined.
  2. Lay out one shumai wrapper and place 1 tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center. Gently press the pork mixture down and shape into a ball.
  3. Fold the wrapper around the pork and press together to seal the dumpling.
  4. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and pork mixture.
  5. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shumai dumplings to the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Serve hot with soy sauce and chili sauce.
